How did you become interested in the Japanese language?

I used to speak fluent Japanese and write and read a little up until the age of about 5. I just started to re-learn my original native language on my own as will soon start practicing hiragana and katana.

What's your fluency level? Newbie? Beginner? Intermediate? Advanced?

Starting over since I lost the language.

What would you like to get out of your participation in this group?

I know the best way to really let a language set in is to have real conversations with others in that language.

Minasan konnichiwa. Watashi wa Madie desu. :-) I was born in Fukuoka, Japan to a military family. My mother was Japanese and my father American.
