This meetup group was set up in August of 2008 in an effort to organize a way for skeptics in the greater Sacramento area to be able to meet one another. This meetup group is also in association with Drinking Skeptically.
Individuals get attracted to the skeptical movement in all different ways either as a way to promote Science and the scientific method, because they are sick and tired of seeing people get duped by quack medicine, or because they think it is where all the cool kids are. Either way it does not matter if you consider yourself a Skeptic, Critical Thinker, or are just curious as to what we are all about, anyone is welcome to join this group and attend our meetings.
We organize lectures, and host a Drinking Skeptically event in Sacramento on the third Friday of every month. In addition to this, to promote science and critical thinking in the area, we will post third party events of a science or skeptical nature here as well.

Drinking Skeptically for the month of November is coming upon us. Join us for rational discourse, a drink or two, and maybe a bite to eat. Changing location once again, this time to the L Wine Lounge. Swankier than our usual digs but with a back room that can fit 20 comfortably, slightly more expensive drinks and eats should be worth it.
We will be in the back room......
