What: FUN, INFORMATIVE classes, with NO TESTS OR GRADES. Classes include a discussion of the material, followed by hands-on experiments in a real laboratory using the same equipment used by professional scientists. Two classes currently available:
“Acids Aren’t Created Equal” Battery acid, lemon juice, vinegar. All are acids, but they aren’t the same. Learn how to measure acid strength (pH) using color indicators and how to change the strength of the acids – your fish and your pool will thank you. Use acids to generate gases and find out which gas is hydrogen.
“CO2 – It’s Sublime” What’s the difference between a balloon filled with air and one filled with carbon dioxide? Why does dry ice make fog? Can your exhaled breath sustain a flame? Learn about the fascinating properties of CO2 and its role in our environment.
