I'm just curious why this in this group? Idk, it's strange to me. Diabetes prevention is great for those interested in learning about or practicing it but that's not why I joined this group. Can someone explain this for me? Thank you:)

Hi, Cathryn, It's because vegan diet/ lifestyle can help control/prevent diabetes; and not everyone in the group is fully vegan yet. Additionally, even those following a vegan diet may still struggle w/ diabetes: and this class helps people home in on the 'healthy' vegan lifestyle: specifically controlling fats/ oils and sugars/ processed foods. So the class is about helping people transition to improve their health...especially if they have or are at-risk for diabetes. It is a PCRM class, which advocates Whole-Foods/ Plant-Based/ Low-fat healthy diet. (:

BTW: there are many other opportunities and meetups on the group! We post a variety to reach out to the interests, needs, and increase awareness on healthy nutrition across the board. Hopefully you will see lots of other opportunities that interest you! (:
