I loved meeting and touching/petting all the beautiful animals! I met some great "human animals" too! ...and I got a pic with Gene Bauer who is someone I admire for starting the FS! I'll post pics soon!

You will LOVE this event. Attending the Celebration of The Turkeys has become a treasured tradition of mine. I too am excited, because my husband, who is not vegan or vegetarian, will be coming with me for the first time! Are you bringing your son?

My husband is a meat eater too! I'm hoping this event will have an impact on him where he will start thinking about what it means to eat "baby back ribs". We decided to leave my son Henry with his Grammy. We are staying overnight in Chico.

Hi there! I have a couple questions:

    1) I would like to attend one of the Celebration of Turkeys events, either at the Farm Sanctuary or the Animal Place. Ideally I'd love to go to both but to do that is a bit out of our budget. ...so the question is as a first time attendee which one should I attend?

    2) I'm going to *try* my best to get my meat-eating husband to go. Ultimately, I'd like to influence him to stop eating meat. IF my husband agrees to go, which event would make a stronger impact and get him really thinking twice about continuing to eat meat and consume animal products?

    3) I have a 16 month old son. Is either of these events more/less conducive to bringing a little toddler along? ...or is it best to leave him with Grammy?

    Thanks
    Kelly

I Think your best choice for the toddler...WHO would be welcome for this event but not all events...is Animal Place. For your husband, either would make an impact.

I don't see the event linked on the FS site yet either - only listed. They are behind this year! I did speak with them at last weekend's World Vegfest in San Francisco and they said it WOULD be happening - Sophia (education etc. director) is on maternity and I guess there are a couple of slow downs in the process. Let's keep eachother posted!

    Two Questions:
    1) Where do you buy the tickets? I went to the Farm Sanctuary site and I didn't see an option for this event.
    2) Is there a schedule for the day/eve for this event?
    3) Is it appropritate to bring my 15 month old son?
    Thanks!
    Kelly

Hi, all. Sounds like fun, but I am going to The Animal Place on Nov 23rd for their Thank the Turkeys celebration at their place in Grass Valley. And if you know anyone or you can adopt a rooster, they recently rescued many, many of them and need places for them to live in peace. Log on to their site and buy a ticket and come out on the 23rd to thank a turkey in person.
