Compassionate Living Outreach Vegan Life Support Dinner!

Brad and Katherine Larsen's House

2405 Rancho Cabeza Drive, Santa Rosa, CA

Our next Vegan Life Support dinner is at Brad and Katherine's house on Friday, March 2nd, from 6:30-8:30 pm (These VLS dinners are always the first Friday of every month). The Compassionate Living Outreach core team along with some experienced vegan cooks will be providing the food. If you've been to a few of these VLS dinners, please bring a favorite vegan dish to share. No one else is obligated to bring food.

We will have a short cooking demo, eat dinner, have another short cooking talk, enjoy dessert, and then have a check-in time where everyone that wants to can talk a bit about where they are with making more conscious food choices.

Non-vegans are particularly welcome. We want to offer support for each person in creating a more healthy compassionate dietstyle. Please feel free to bring a friend to try this tasty vegan food.

We offer a mentor program for anyone who would like weekly contact and support for creating a plant-based dietstyle.

To conserve resources and cut down on trash, please bring your own plate, bowl, cup, napkin and utensils. We greatly appreciate your support in this.

NEW: The dinner will officially conclude at 8:30 pm but at that time, we will put water on the stove for tea. Anyone interested in talking in a more relaxed environment is welcome to stay for tea and talk, with no set end time.

Awesome new vegan restaurant:

Now Open In Petaluma!

Petaluma has an awesome new all vegan restaurant!! If you haven't been to the new Lydia's Sunflower Center in Petaluma, you definitely want to check it out! Lydia's Loving Foods has pioneered many fantastic raw and now some cooked foods that are sold in Whole Foods and other fine markets. Lydia's has also been a main stay vendor and caterer offering her tasty organic fair at festivals, fairs and conventions in the Northern California area. Lydia's Kitchen is also a wonderful little Cafe in downtown Fairfax. But now you can sit down and enjoy some of her fine culinary creations up here in Sonoma County too! The food is fresh and delicious, and what's more, almost everything on the menu is organic! Lydia's Sunflower Center is just east of the freeway at the Petaluma Blvd North exit. The sign is on the ground and it isn't very big so drive slowly to see it. Enjoy!

Amazing new website:

Ever watch one of Dr. Michael Greger's DVDs and wish you could send some nutritional nugget to someone you know? Now you can! A year in the making, is Dr. Greger's labor of love, featuring videos from the past four years of his highly informative Latest in Clinical Nutrition DVDs split into hundreds of bite-sized topical segments that can be searched and shared.

It's all free and it's strictly noncommercial (no ads, not selling anything) and it's strictly science-based (he even has links to all the primary source citations). And the best part is, Dr. Greger is going to upload a new video every day, seven days a week, for at least the first 365 days!

So don't miss a single day! Check out and share this potentially life-changing, life-saving information with everyone you know.

The doctor is in!

And don't forget:

What is Al Gore missing? Let's tell him!!

Some members of CLO have started a new project designed to get Al Gore to more openly address animal agriculture’s role in climate change. The project is called Operation Missing Link and the idea is to record hundreds of short video messages to Mr. Gore urging him to discuss how one's personal diet can have a powerful positive impact on climate change (as well as being good for the animals and one's own health). We will use these messages to draw Mr. Gore's, as well as the media's attention to the issue.

All you have to do is tell Mr. Gore why he should speak more openly about animal agriculture's dramatic effect on our climate. You can even suggest he urge folks to eat a plant-based diet to reduce their green house gas footprint! Kamal will have some facts and figures available if you'd like to include them in your message.

Hope Bohanec of IDA supports Operation Missing Link:

Here is an article about Operation Missing Link that was published on Care2:
