My motivations are two-fold. Primarily, I care about the welfare of animals, including farm animals. Secondarily, I am becoming more convinced that it would be beneficial healthwise. I am interested in this group because I find having support is always easier than going it alone. The most important benefit would be to have a support system for a lifestyle that might be a little difficult to transition, especially because my husband will not join me in this venture.
I am 55 years old and am originally from England. I have a part time job as an antique dealer in a local antique mall. Of course, I love animals and currently have two dogs. I would have more animals but I also love to travel and it's so hard to leave pets for any length of time. I am an ominvore, but only eat a little poultry and fish. Most meals are vegetarian. I do love dairy, especially cheese and eggs. Would like my own chickens in the future, but if I give up eggs I'm not sure of the wisdom of owning chickens.
I like to travel, love to hunt for antiques and enjoy decorating and gardening. I love nature, but also like shopping, dining out and all of the urban benefits like galleries and theatre. I adore my dogs and they are the center of my life, right along with my family and friends.
Since I can remember I care deeply about animal welfare. Without our fellow creatures human existence would be deficent of much joy. Forget looking to the stars to find other life. This planet is filled with life of an infinite variety.
Hi: I'm Susan Powers and I live in Carmichael. I was introduced to this web site by Linda Middlesworth and she told me about the upcoming vegan pot luck which I intend to attend next Sunday.
I run into vegans and vegan-curious people all the time and recommend the Sacramento Vegan Society. It's a great support group and resource for those veg-minded types like me!
