My name is Hunter, I am 21 years old and I live in Carmichael. I went to Humboldt State for a year last year and that's where I fell in love with the vegan lifestyle. I'm an ex college football player, looking to change my lifestyle around 180°
I'm interested in meeting more vegans, vegetarians, and vegan-friendly people. Most of my friends (and all of my family) are all meat eatters and it's hard to go out with them and not have anything to eat. Plus, everyone is always pressuring me to eat meat or some terrible processed food, and I would like to be surrounded by good influences on my life, people that say "Hey, eat this banana" rather than "What do you mean you eat no meat? How do you get your protein?"
Well up to about a year ago, I though veganism was an eating disorder. Luckily I was introduced to someone who completely changed my way of thinking. I've quit football (which was requiring me to eat SO much meat and dairy and lab-manufactured protein) and became a vegetarian within the last couple of months, and my life has been so much better. I want to keep going in this direction, and meet some good friends along the way
Nature spots, camping, the San Fransisco 49ers, marijuana, and delicious fruit :)
Yes I do, but what motivated me to stop eating meat was how much better I felt physically. Don't get me wrong, I think what they do to animals is grotesque and wrong, but feeling healthier is what pushes me to continue in my journey to veganism.
Thank you for your desire to be healthier! And you will be when vegan! We understand families, coaches, who push for animal products.. They are still in the dark. Come to events and you will find lots of people who get it! Our next big event is Healthy Taste of Sacramento and try to bring one family member as they will get their eyes opened!!
