Hi Billie, We have started having meetups at our Arden Park with Bring your own dinner. We had also a picnic bring your own vegan grill food and share a dessert or salad. Were you there? Were you at Dr. Barnard and the comedy movie we just had called: VEGUCATED? We are going do potluck every third month instead of every month and then have bring your own food or just have speakers instead or DVDs the rest of the time. While I know you said you have seen all the food videos, I have not! And since many people are just getting started and even those who have started are not healthy vegans yet, we need to help folks along.

We just had Chef AJ (only 10 dollars) and her info was priceless for getting my heavy vegans to lose weight and also my skinny ones to be eating healthier! Our mission statements is plant healthy and animal compassion and so we need our videos/speakers to reflect this information. We have salsa night out and or dancing if you like that. We have Half Marathon Training starting in Dec. at Savvy Vegan Fitness Mentor Meetup if you like that. We have our dine outs too of course. In the spring, we will start hikes together...do you have more suggestions? I pay myself for our Community Center so must keep active there every month on the third sunday! I hope you will come and support us and meet new people!

Best Wishes,
Linda

Hi Linda,
I so appreciate all the work you do to promote and support veganism. I was thinking abouta 2012 and how I'd really like to attend more events and why I don't. I realized that I know a few vegans who, like me, prefer to only eat food they've prepared themselves (rather than potluck and $$ for restaurants) and who have already viewed most of the vegan related videos. I wonder how many others in the meetup feel this way and might be interested in a "bring your own meal" event and watching a comedy movie or playing board games or something.

What do you think? Is there a way to find out?
