Staying home

Maybe I've missed the purpose of the vegan society but I tho't the main purpose was to educate the public about how animals are abused and violently killed in addition to a health threat to our diets as shown in Vegucated??  I don't know how staying home could make a change in the demand for animal slaughter.

I actually think it's important to continue putting pressure on the restaurants to begin taking veganism seriously and reconsider how/who they deal with in food industry  Not to mention set examples for those dining at nearby tables to encourage questions and introspection

I prefer reaching out to public. By the time I've prepared a dish I've usually spent more than if I'd ordered from a rstrnt anyway

Hi Linda,
I so appreciate all the work you do to promote and support veganism. I was thinking abouta 2012 and how I'd really like to attend more events and why I don't. I realized that I know a few vegans who, like me, prefer to only eat food they've prepared themselves (rather than potluck and $$ for restaurants) and who have already viewed most of the vegan related videos. I wonder how many others in the meetup feel this way and might be interested in a "bring your own meal" event and watching a comedy movie or playing board games or something.

What do you think? Is there a way to find out?
