Dear Vegan Friends,
Vegan Society has offered over 100 meetups during the past year: 110 to be exact! That's 8-10 opportunities to get connected & be involved, every month, throughout the entire year. Wow!
Meetups have included:
potlucks, nutrition/ cooking classes & demos, dine-outs, BBQs, movie screenings, amazing guest speakers, leafleting for animal advocacy, fitness walks, field trips to SF & Farm Sanctuary & Animal Place, tabling at various festivals & special events, a New Years Eve party, T'Giving Feast, Christmas exchange, concerts, art shows and more!
These meetups don't plan and organize themselves: it takes group members to brainstorm, set up, facilitate, support, handle all the details, and clean up for each event; and a great deal of out-of-pocket $$ has been contributed by a handful of members.
...While apples grow on trees, money does not. All of these events cost money to host and to promote.
...And while we all enjoy the fruits of a bountiful harvest, someone has to commit & contribute their time & labor for the garden to grow!
With a group of close to 850 members, we need your help to continue planning and organizing exciting events that are fun, social, informational/educational, and advocate/raise awareness for a healthy vegan lifestyle & animal welfare. As we grow our community, we need everybody to step forward & contribute their time, energy, enthusiasm (and yes...funding!) to promote even more events for our group and to promote vegan ideals throughout Sacramento through events & outreach.
Please join us this afternoon to discuss ideas for the coming year, and to sign up to help plan & organize a variety of upcoming events.
Thanks in advance for your help!
See you there for Sundaes: with hot fudge, nuts & cherries on top!
