RPG Meetup at Jetpack Comics

From Jeff the Host of the Meetup!

"Me and a couple of friends will be hosting regular RPG meetups at Jetpack Comics in Rochester. For now, these will be one-shot games but a long-term campaign could develop if there is sufficient interest.

Here's the hook for the first one:

"Only the desperate and the brave is the proud motto of Falcon’s Hollow. Few choose a life on the outskirts of Darkmoon, whose dim, mist-laden forests are prowled by feral beasts, reeking trolls, and the restless souls of the dead. Fewer still possess the steely will to venture into the haunted ruins of the once-great dwarven kingdom. For those brave enough to claim them, treasures surpassing the dreams of princes and poets rest beneath the rocky slopes of Droskar’s Crag, but so too does an ancient evil. Sibilant whispers ride the vale winds after nightfall, jumbled promises of doom, blasphemy, and rot hissed from the darkness beneath the mountain. From deep below the earth come soul-shredding abominations, and as these unspeakable horrors rise, the lesser denizens of these dwarven ruins are forced to the surface."

This will be a standard D&D style fantasy game using the Pathfinder system core rules. Pre-generated characters will be provided.

If it looks like a big turnout, we'll run two or more tables as needed. So, don't hesitate to sign up even if things look full. Looking forward to getting some regular RPGing up and running!"

Any questions please let Jeff know! Have a blast!

No worries. Pathfinder is based on D&D 3.5 and is 90% compatible. One of the other players coming has never even played a role playing game before. So you should be ahead of the game!

Fair warning: I've played D&D up through V3.5 (albeit not recently enough), but am a newbie to Pathfinder.

We're up to 8 confirmed, 7 here and 1 from the other site! Justin - There's a good chance that we'll have two tables going tomorrow. The other game will be old school-ish using the Castles & Crusades rules. Either way, glad to have you aboard!

Looks like we have at least 7 officially signed up and I expect at least a couple of walk-ins. Cool, should be fun!

When I get back, I'll totally be up for playing in/ running a game. I have a few one-shots mostly prepared( need tweaking, but runnable as is) from a couple of conventions as well as two of my own fantasy worlds, one of which I've been working in/ with since '97. Its a full world with some special rules beyond D&D, many continents and a globe!
