I first got the sailing bug when I was 15 on a lake in Maine. I was fascinated by the way the sail captured the wind and moved the boat whichever way we aimed. As I grew, I grew into larger boats. I am capable on a boat and have sailed extensively in Southern New England, Floridia Gulf Coast and a few weeks in the Mediterranean.
Before moving to Houston, I sailed out of Naples Florida with a friend on a very leisurely sail. It was a 55 Benatau which could put up a lot of sail. Alas, there wasn't much wind that day and we sailed under very light winds.
I'm interested in all types of sailing. Mostly I enjoy trimming the sails and adjusting for the wind.
I would very much like to improve my sailing skills and learn more about the waters off Texas.
Saturdays and Sundays are easiest days for me to sail. I hope to join the group at least twice a month, weather and time permitting.
If you stand close enough; you'll hear the ocean!
Good people, good fun, good times.
