RUBEN BLADES!
Rubén Blades is a Panamanian salsa singer, songwriter, lawyer, actor, and politician. As songwriter, Blades brought the lyrical sophistication of Latin American Canto Nuevo and Cuban Trova, to create highly literate, politically tinged lyrics with modern-minded arrangements. Ruben Blades has composed dozens of musical hits, and has won multiple Grammy Awards. He was part of the Fania All-Stars project in the 60s and 70s, a living salsa leyend!
