Welcome to the Milwaukee Baile Salsa Meet-up! You are now a part of the longest running Salsa Class in the city of Milwaukee! Your organizer Chris "La Maestra" has been teaching Salsa for over 13 years and knows hundreds of combinations and you can learn them all. You can get to know Chris better by visiting www.latindancecompany.biz.
We are a very social club and have some of the friendliest students. We generally get together after class to socialize at a local restaurant. Students also plan outings to get together when there are special Salsa functions. We also host practice parties every few weeks. After all, our emphasis is on social Salsa dancing and making friends. We don't want you having to stand on the sidelines at Salsa Clubs and miss all the fun.
We have our basic Salsa class at 6:30 PM. It is designed for the beginning dancer. It is no problem if you have never danced before. A few students have danced but notice that the Salsa dancing in Salsa clubs have more turns, combinations, and styling than they learned growing up. No problem, we will teach you the techniques that make their dancing different from yours.
Our intermediate Salsa class begins at 7:30 PM and introduces a new pattern every week to add to your existing repertoire. Before you "graduate" to the intermediate class, the prerequisite is that you should be comfortable executing the Milwaukee Baile Salsa "Basic Six Patterns". From these six patterns, all of the hundreds of combinations will develop.
You do not need a partner, ( several students come solo), You will need a pair of shoes that stay on your feet when you turn (no backless shoes) and you will progress faster if you wear shoes that do not have rubber soles. Our classes run for 55 minutes, first our basic starting at 6:30and second our intermediate, starting at 7:30. If you prepay for a month of lessons, the fee is only $10 per class, and drop ins, $12 per class. Finally, a great attitude to learn, helps you have fun! We look forward to seeing you at class.
