Louie's -Live to Dance and Dance to Live- MEET-UP Weekly Meetup

  • This location is shown only to members

Every thursday join the Fun & Fit, Hiking & Outdoors, and Spanish Language & Culture Meetup groups for some free salsa dance lessons at Las Palmas Mexican restaurant.

Since there are so many Meetups that go there, there is usually a good number of people that show up. There is no partner necessary, but feel free to bring one if you have one. Louie, our instructor, is great at what he does. Not only does he teach you the basic steps but he also tells you a bit of the history of each dance. I would highly recommend it for those beginners or those with 2 left feet. After his beginners/intermediate class, Rafael (our DJ) teaches an advance class. The floor is then open for dance after both classes are over. There is a good mix of salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, samba, and even a bit of reggaeton. If that's not enough to persuade you... did I mention that there are 2 for 1 margaritas during their happy hour? How can you beat that?

THE SALSA MUSIC WAS NOT THE BEST, ALMOST THE SAME ALL THE TIME, NO RUMBA, CHA-CHA, MERENGUE, ETC. THE MEXICAN SALSA IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THE CUBAN OR PUERTO-RICO MUSIC, LOOK ALIKE BUT NO THE SAME. IT'S RANCHERO MUSIC.
