Drinking Skeptically

Join Salt City Skeptics for Drinking Skeptically at Fiddlers Elbow (1063 East 2100 South, Salt Lake City —[masked]). No agenda ... just getting acquainted, catching up, and carrying on multiple conversations at once. That may sound like utter confusion, but in fact it's fun that way.

I want to come but will be driving so can't drink...plus I literally do not know anyone. So I will feel extremely awkward jumping in.

This is my first time meeting this group, so I don't know anybody either. So there are at least two people in the same situation. No reason to feel awkward! Hope you make it tonight, so I don't feel awkward either....

Welcome, Patricia, and by all means jump right in. Many attend and order nothing, and no one so much as looks at them askance.

I'm 19, and would love to come to these (I don't intend to ever drink, I just want to hang out), but you keep holding them at a strict 21-and-over place :/ perhaps they could be held at a bar+restaurant place sometime?

Ouch! I hate excluding anyone. Trouble is, we have moved the venue several times in the past year. Now that everyone knows where it is, we are loath to do it again. We'll put our heads together and see what we can come up with. Hopefully before you turn 21.

Paul, one would think that that should be the case, but it's not. Fiddlers Elbow is very strict about checking ID and not allowing in anyone under 21. In fact, FI recently turned us away because we had with us a young woman who was of age but had forgotten her ID.

I really enjoyed Steve's article on Randi.org and the incorporation of so many skeptic terms like false dichotomy and non sequitur!

I'm not doing volunteer work on Tuesday evenings any more so I will make this. Yay!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
