For our purposes, a skeptic is not a de facto doubter, butsomeone who bases conclusions upon evidence. It follows that a willingness to examine evidence and accept where it leads is part of healthy skepticism.
Our main activity, in fact pretty much our only one, is a monthly get-together we call Drinking Skeptically. We’d love to say that we thought up the name, but we stole it, or, rather, borrowed it from skeptical groups in other areas.
Don’t let the word “drinking” trouble you. Food and drink (including water and pop) are available but optional. The point is to enjoy conversation with fellow, refreshingly rational thinkers.Usually multiple conversations go on at once. You may want to stick with one conversation all evening long, or flit between them. It only sounds like utter confusion. In fact, it’s a lot of fun.
