Dear Skeptical Friends:
Why not end the year right?
For that matter, if it turns out that the Mayan Calendar predicted our demise after all, why not end the world right?
Join us for Drinking Skeptically this Tuesday, December 11. I called the Beerhive just minutes ago and can assure you that, as of this writing, no private party has been scheduled to keep us out. Should that change at the last minute, I’ll hang a sign on the door. I’ll also send an emergency email, so if you find yourself locked out, check your smart phone for an email from me. (You DO have a smart phone, don’t you?)
* * *
Where: Beerhive Pub, 128 S Main Street, Salt Lake City, downstairs.
Food and drink: Totally optional. If you wish, order food and drink (beer, wine, pop, water) at the bar. On slow nights, they bring it down to you when it’s ready. On a busy night, you may need to run back upstairs and retrieve it yourself.
When: Tuesday, December 11 (second Tuesday of the month). People usually straggle in between 7:00-ish and 7:30-ish and stick around till 9-ish or 9:30-ish.
Agenda: Be serious. Agenda? That would require forethought, planning, and, worst of all, effort. We find it easier to let myriad, concurrent conversations emerge from our collective cerebral soup. Some of the conversations flourish and adapt while others die off. Just like most life forms throughout the history of the Earth.
