If you live in the Salt Lake City area and enjoy the Spanish language, our meetup site at http://www.meetup.com/saltlakecityspanish/ will connect you with other people who can help you become conversant in Spanish. Studying all the time to learn a new language can be really BORING, so it’s much better to tune your ear by listening to Spanish, combined with opportunity to practice speaking Spanish.
Our Tuesday night Spanish conversation group is going strong, every week 10 or more fabulous people meet in The Avenues to develop Spanish language skills. There is also a fun intercambio group (English – Spanish) that meets regularly at the downtown Salt Lake City Library. And the “Amigos y Libros” group consists of mostly native Spanish speakers who meet to discuss Spanish literature that they are reading, their meetings are posted on the Salt Lake City Library system calendar.
I appreciate so much all of the friends I have found through learning Spanish. You have enriched my life, and I hope that I have enriched yours as well. And I want you to know about a wonderful organization called the Tandana Foundation that not only focuses on building friendships with Spanish-speaking people, but also is engaged in various community service projects that build a better world. Please support this organization through my fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/spanish/tandana.
