Skepchicks told me!
Probably I always was, but didn't know it. Which led to a lot of confrontations at camp and with my totally-religious-because-their-parents-said-so friends because I kept asking, "But why? Where's your proof?" Made the "Oh, I really AM an atheist!" realization last year and it was awesome.
I just got back from a "beach day" sponsored by my workplace where everyone drank and talked in their little cliques and no one actually, like, went in the water. I want to do fun cool things, not sit around and make awkward conversation. Hiking trips, museums, rock climbing, football/baseball games are all awesome. O want to be among people who will welcome me and make me feel included and not make comments about "throwing like a girl" (yes, someone said that today as I put a perfect spin on a football. Ugh). I am also interested in exploring the San Diego food scene.
Recent transplant from Rochester, NY in dire need of socialization (and surf lessons?). History nerd with future PhD plans and a deep and abiding love of LOTR. Atheist, married to a recovering Catholic, which makes for the BEST CONVERSATIONS EVER.
