How did you hear about this group (i.e. advertising, directly from someone, at an event, online search, Meetup, another group, Facebook)?

Religion and politics can be "Sticky Wickets" as the British would say. This group allows us to meet people with similar beliefs regarding religion, so that cancels one of those issues, allowing for more significant friendships/relationships to be formed.

What prompted you to seek us out at this time? Was it an event that we had organized, or something else specific going on in the world or your own life?

When did you become an atheist or agnostic?

At age 12 for surgery, I questioned why a "loving, all-knowing being/cosmic muffin" would find it necessary to cause children such discomfort. At 14, realistic and honest responses to questions about biblical "miracles" from an understanding, reality-based Rabbi led to my beliefs. Reading James Michener's "The Source" provided a way to understand reasons that some people need religion.

What type of events would you be interested in attending? (We pay attention to this! The more specific, the better.)

Theatre, sports events, dating, dinners, hikes, volunteer/charity events, foreign and indie films, music, trivia contests, volunteer activities, travel, photography.

I'm Marci. I hope to meet people for friendship/romance. Adventure travel, scuba in tropics, photography, theater, music (classical/rock/reggae), and nonfiction include my favrites. Hope to enjoy tennis and skiing again following knee replacement.

What Marci is saying about this Meetup Group
