Since a number of people seemed interested in the issue of non-religious morality, I would like to suggest ?The Heart of Altruism? by Kristen Monroe for the next book discussion. For those who do not have the opportunity to read the book, a summary of her findings can be found in this article. (http://www.scienceblog.com/community/older/2004/9/20048072.shtml)
What I think is interesting about Kristen Monroe?s findings is that they conform what a number of people at the last meeting said about being ethical because to do otherwise would lessen their connection with others.
