Suggestion for next book discussion

From: Tom B.

Since a number of people seemed interested in the issue of non-religious morality, I would like to suggest  ?The Heart of Altruism? by Kristen Monroe for the next book discussion.  For those who do not have the opportunity to read the book, a summary of her findings can be found in this article. (

What I think is interesting about Kristen Monroe?s findings is that they conform what a number of people at the last meeting said about being ethical because to do otherwise would lessen their connection with others.

If people want a more general discussion about altruism, I could also give links to a number of other articles, such as the one that showed that even infants can behave altruistically.  (
P.S. Thanks to everyone for making the last discussion meeting so enjoyable!
