Re: [atheists-518] Humanitarian group cross post: Events

Thanks Katherine, thank you for posting, however, most of us (about 90% are atheist) and we are actually a Secular Humanist Group, not a Humanitarian group.  Secular Humanism is a little different than humanitarianism.  they are similar, but we focus more on the separation of church and state and issues relating mostly to atheists and agnositics.  Almost all of these events are social, and with an atheist focus, so i thought that the new atheist meetup would enjoy them.

thanks
Jason

Hi Folks,

These aren't Atheist group events, but you might be interested. Jason Frye, the organizer of the Humanitarian group sent us a message with a list of upcoming events.

Hey Katherine, some upcoming things:
Friday we would like to get a huge group together to show
support for Religulous
Sunday we are attending a protest of the Boy Scouts
discrimination of Atheists- I am speaking
Saturday nights we now have one hell of weekly social event,
absolutely fun and uplifting (Sat nights at Libertalia 7-9)

Then in something rather historic; I will be delivering an
atheist invocation to the city council Monday October 27th at 2
pm, we should join together to celebrate that. It is truly
incredible!

anyway, those are some upcoming events, and then in november we
will be hosting our 3rd annual thanksgiving event

so just some things to all get involved in
-Jason
