For the Title: Cali versus Oregon Blind Tasting and Judging

Come enjoy and participate in the battle of the year!  California versus Oregon for the SDBC 2012 Beer Title.

This event will be a blind tasting and judging.  For both the experienced and the completely inexperienced beer taster, this particular event gives us an opportunity to see where Cali stands in comparison to another state in regards to their abilities in making the sweet loving beverage we all so much like to enjoy!  It not about whether the color or balance is right.  It just comes down to whoever gets the most votes.

We are fortunate to have Bottlecraft to be hosting this event for us.  A awesome spot in little Italy, Bottlecraft provides a ridiculously relaxed environment to hang and just have a beer.  Serving and specializing in only bottle beers, Bottlecraft is a must for any and every San Diego beer lover to know and visit!  They are working with us to give a killer price on the event!  Most tasters or beer fests will run anywhere from $30-40 for 6-8 tasters.  But that's not how the SD Beer Club holds things down!

This event will be limited to 20 attendees.  You will get 8 tasters, score sheet, and I will bring various little snacks for us to munch on in between each taster.

Date: Tues, Oct 16th

Time: 7pm

Cost: $15

If you have any questions, please feel free to email!

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Cheers,

Karl

What was the final ranking for the top 4?

    October 17, 2012

I only got as far as the first two and then was dissapointed. The top two were both Oregon. Number one was Hair of the Dog Blue Dot and number two was Rogue's Hazel nut brown.

"For both the experienced and completely inexperienced beer taster" No doubt where I sit on this scale and I actually felt like I might have matched most if not all correctly. Zero correct, Ouch! Good thing I didn't have my ego invested. LOL. Great fun.

Does it offend anyone if I show up in running shorts, having just ran 5 miles?

You know I'm always down for some good competition :)

The 1st rather than the latter should be the incentive, no? For anyone can lose, but not everyone can be a winner. ;) But I'm sure we're all game on what ever; it'll be fun regardless!

Heck yes everyone! I am so pumped to see so many people signed up already. What do yall think about maybe doing a prize for the person who does the best on the blind tasting and the person who does the worst?
