A month or so ago I posted on the discussion board the idea of a food and beer pairing.  I got great responses back!  So here is the first food and beer pairing for the SD Beer Club.

We are lucky enough to have Local Habit helping us with this event.  Local Habit places emphasis on making all of their organic meals from scratch and are committing to offering the best Cali beers on tap and by bottle.

Personally this is one of my favorite places to go to for a beer and I was so stoke to hear that they were more than happy to help us with this event.

This food-beer pairing will include three 6oz pours of heavenly delicious craft beer that will each be specificly paired with dishes that will be made especially for this event.

This isn't going to be your plain ol' cheesburger or chicken tenders with fries.  These are very specific and unique dishes prepare for this event and the beers that they are to be paired with.

The Chef will also be available to tell us about the meal, the beer, and why he choose to make particular pairing.  Of course, he will also be available to answer any questions we may have.

AND after we are done eating, Local Habit is going to give us extended happy hour for the rest of the night!

Usually these events are set up as a 5 course meal with pairings and can run as high as $70!  For just $25 you will get 3 x 6oz pours and 3 meals paired together!  Lucky you for being part of the beer club huh?

I am excited to see you at the first SD Beer Club food-beer pairing.

*This food-beer pairing will not be vegetarian friendly (I am working on vegi version of this event for after the new year).

My favorite food pairing for the night was the Tahini Chicken Sausage that was paired with the Figueroa Mountain Danish Red Lager - this particular pairing was spot on! Also, the Chef's and Brew Master's input/insight on each dish pairing added a nice touch.

I was happy with the food being a mystery until we all had arrived at LH :) Ah well! The food and beer pairing sounds deliciously interesting and at least still a little "mysterious"; so I'm very excited about this event!!
