In conjunction with the SD Sustainable Development Group:

WHAT: Announcing Electric Drag In 2008

This is the first-ever-international-exclusively-electric-drive-only event.
There will be e-motorcross racing, electric car drag racing, a village
energy vendor booth area, electra-city camp grounds and networking. The
latest electric drive technology will be available for close inspection and
purchase. There will be races to see which car goes the fastest and which
car goes the farthest. There will of course be trophies and prizes and they
say they will have the largest array of electric vehicles ever assembled.
There will be competitors from across north america coming to the race. Imagine a drag race with no internal combustion engines polluting the air
with noise and exhaust! www.electricdragin.com

WHEN: Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: Barona Drag Strip www.baronadrags.com

Needed more displays on battery technology, but the races were fun!

The winning Ford Cobra (all electric) was a rocket. I enjoyed all the various vehicles, including a pasteboard box with steering and electric motor. There were many approaches to electifying personal vehicles...mostly of them done by individuals. There was one very fast scooter with what appeared to be a corrigated cardboard body wrapped around the frame. The non-business vehicle creations were not necessarily high dollar assemblies, especially the motorcycles and scooters. They appeared to be home created. Totally; it was a fun event that could help shift the general public opinion that electricity can be practically used for transportaion.

More than a race, had lots of different types of electric vehicles on display and easy to check them out up close.

I can hardly wait for this event. My next vehicle will be a non-combustion engine like these. I am waiting for the battery technology to improve enough to have a 300 mile range in a mid size car.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
