I'm starting a new thread here for those that enjoy listening to podcasts
or learning from webcasts on their computers and iPod or mp3 devices.

These are photography related podcasts/webcasts specifically
and if you have more links that you think would be
useful for our members, please add them below.

Thanks and happy listening and watching!

These are of course free and can be loaded to your computer via iTunes
from the iTunes Store. By subscribing (free), the new podcasts will be loaded
to your computer when they are released.

Thanks to member Jack Foster Mancilla for this informative link:

Jeff Curto - Photo History Lectures

A very good 16 part classroom series detailing many aspects of the history
of photography.
From his History of Photography class at College of Dupage in Illinois.

Should be required listening for anyone interested in the development of photography from it's infancy and up to current digital times.
Listen to these while working on your images in photoshop sometime and you
might just get inspired!

NOTE: There is image capability with this podcast so you can see the images as the
class progresses, on your video iPod or via your computer. I didn't realize that when I first started listening to these.

The Candid Frame
Hosted by Ibarionex R. Perello

Interviews with some of photography's major players and specialists. Each episode
runs under an hour and makes for some interesting listening.

Better sound quality on more recent shows than the very early ones due to his
upgrading in recording technique but even the early ones make interesting listening.

I'll offer Photo Talk Radio done by San Diego's own Howard Lipin and Michael Garcia.

These guys really focus on technique and instruction and helping new photog's get fresh ideas and exposure. Monte Zucker is a frequent guest along with other well-known names. You can also sign up to get your work reviewed live on their web radio show.

Their podcast can be found here:

The web site is chock full of good information as well:

Dan, Nice Hat!! Thank you for the Podcast Post. You are noticed here in Florida and we will be watching this link. This is great information and hope it will catch on here. These downoad as mp3's and can be converted to normal cd files for use on a long drive in the car! Or an mp3 player of course. An hour takes about 23 MB so the files are too big for our file section crying

I really like This Week in Photography by Alex Lindsay and Scott Bourne of the Pixel Corps. They are very professional, yet approachable. The production quality is excellent!

"Join Alex Lindsay, Scott Bourne, and friends each week as they discuss camera technique, technology, and news. From taking photos of the family to understanding how cameras work to testing state-of-the-art equipment, you'll hear, and see, it all on This Week in Photography."
