What is Photo Video West?
It is the go-to event for photography enthusiasts on the West Coast, previously known as Photo Expo West. Photo Video West is a photography and video expo featuring two-action packed days filled with: seminars led by photography pros, live interactive demos, product specials, photo contests, portfolio reviews, raffle prizes and more! Thousands of photographers from all levels will gather to learn, share, network and expand their photographic abilities.
Photography Seminars: Expand your photographic abilities by attending seminars led by celebrated photographers, local industry experts, renowned videographers, and other truly amazing talents.
Portfolio Review Sessions: For an additional fee, attendees can sign up for portfolio review sessions to have their work viewed by a trained professionals.
ENTRANCE FEE PER PERSON: Tickets range from $12 for a one-day pass to $20 for a weekend pass. A portion of all ticket sales benefits the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA). High School Students with valid school I.D. & younger children get in FREE.Our members will receive an exclusive $5 discount off of a 2-day pass to the Photo Video West Event. World Cup of Photography Photo Contest Hosted by Werner Publishing
January 15, 2013 – March 31, 2013
Photography professionals and amateurs alike are invited to participate in Photo Video West’s World Cup of Photography Photo Contest, benefitting San Diego’s Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA). Participants have the option to compete in either the professional or amateur division in nine categories for upwards of $15,000 in cash and prizes. Categories include children, portrait, wedding, wildlife, landscape, still life, artistic, silhouette, and underwater.
The Grand Prize winner will take home $1,000 cash; a Tamron[masked]mm PZD lens; and Adobe's Creative Suite Master Collection. First place winners in each category will receive their choice of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop CS.
Take advantage of Early Bird entry fees at $25 (Professional) or $20 (Amateur) per single photograph. After March 1, 2013, entry fees are raised to $35 (Professional) or $30 (Amateur) per single photograph. There are no restrictions to the number of photographs participants can submit.
To enter the contest, participants must click onto this link, and then locate the “Enter Contest” button, complete & submit the Online Entry Form plus Accept the Official Rules and Regulations. To be eligible, each online entry must be received no later than midnight (PST) on March 31, 2013. All entrants must be at least 18 years of age in order to qualify.
DIRECTIONS: From Interstate 5, exit Via de la Valle and head West. Turn left at Jimmy Durante Blvd. and head onto the fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds will be on your right. Photo Video West is located inside the O'Brien Hall.
PARKING: Available on-site in the parking lots off Jimmy Durante Blvd. Enter through the Main Gate and park in Main Parking Lot (A) close to the O'Brien Gate. There is a $10 per vehicle fee, so carpooling is recommended to help pay for the fuel & parking fees.
