Join ASMP San Diego as we welcome photojournalist Fred Greaves back for a frank discussion on not only how to survive in the era of "iPhone reporters" but how to excel in photojournalism. Please note that RSVPs here on Meetup do not reserve your spot -- reservations must be made via Eventbrite using the link at the bottom of this post.
Fred Greaves (fredgreaves.com) is a photographer with more than 20 years of experience in editorial, documentary and advertising photography. Trained as a photojournalist, Fred is a specialist at creating compelling images that tell his clients’ stories.
You can often find Fred working in the middle of a raging wildfire, in the flurry of a hospital emergency room, documenting A-list entertainers performing for troops in Afghanistan, and carefully crafting images in a commercial setting.
He excels at turning adverse situations into art and for delivering beautiful photographs in the most pressure-packed environments by finding order in chaos and beauty in simple moments.
When Fred isn’t out shooting assignments, he contributes to the photographic community by guest lecturing on photography and photojournalism at schools across the U.S. as well as having spent time teaching photography at the University of California, San Diego and Point Loma Nazarene University. He is also a former board member of the San Diego ASMP chapter.
This program will be held on Thursday June 19th. A networking hour will run from 6pm-7pm, with the program beginning promptly at 7pm. The program will be hosted by The Right Light Studios, 4570 Alvarado Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92120. Light food and beverage will be provided.
