Stop Sign Shooting Game (Clairemont)

An unusual & interesting photography event.

We will all meetup & draw from the jar to find out which Stop Sign Flower each photog is assigned to shoot. This is a game of creativity, a challenge per say to be the photographer with the best (modeled, colors, angle or … ) photo of the day. I will have the list of bests for all to work on achieving. You are not to impede traffic, modify the flower nor damage it, but only to add to it in order to achieve an interesting image using your assigned location. There are several "Flowered Stop Signs" to work with, so I assume we have enough to assign each photographer their very own.

CAN USE: Graphic Imagery, Models, Props, Reflectors, MUA, Ladder, what have you. So start thinking about your plan.

THE FOLLOWING WAS ADDED on March 30th
KEY WORDS: "creativity" & "photography" Graphic Imagery software such as Photoshop, Illustrator or what-have-you are not a requirement but allowed; therefore, results of who wins which ever title will be announced by May 20th. Entries due no later than April 20th via the internet. Judging will be done by a panel of 10 non-participating individuals that may or may not be photographers. Opens this up to all level of Camera Enthusist. Just a fun filled event working with your assigned Stop Sign.

I am embarassed for our members to have admit the following: The only folks that showed up have posted their photos up. Sorry lots of folks signed up, but the majority were no shows. Shannon & her guest left before I arrived. Only two participants remained. So I didn't bother to work on this project anymore; however, those two have won everything hands down.

Though the shooting event started late because of an unavoidable flat on the organizer's car, Sheila did everything possible to let us know she was still coming. The contest was well organized, Sheila put a lot of work and effort into every aspect of the event. I found my Stop Sign easily, and spent as much time as I needed shooting for the contest. I hope we're able to have more contests like this in the future.

When I was done with frantic calls to tow trucks I looked up Krispy Kreme phone number. They finally answered their phone after 3 tries in the half hour. The person said no one looked as though they were waiting for anyone. Then another call to them… this time the lady looked outside to find those that did wait. I did have a serious flat tire that had to be repaired. For this reason I am extending the due date & will repost so everyone can get involved. So sorry & BIG KUDOS to those who waited.

Shannon I called the folks who left their numbers for me as requested. Two of the numbers went directly to full message box, one no answer, & the other couldn't make it.

I am interested in this event. But for health reasons, I can't really commit this soon. I will be thinking about it for sure.

Hi! I wanted to let you know about the website for the stop sign flower art project. It's http://www.stopsignflower.com and it's set up so that members of the community can upload photos and comments of each flower. It would be fantastic if your photographers would upload pics to the site to share with the community. There are new flowers being added almost every day too, it's about 65% planted. Thanks! Trish Kaufman.

Do all the effects need to be done in camera? No photoshop?
Will everyone's photos be reviewed at the end of the shoot time that day?
