Hi All,

We all know SanDiego is great for sunsets, but where do you think the best location is to shoot sunrise scenes? I like Anza Borrego, but where would you shoot in the west of the county?

One place, if you like to get the downtown skyline, is from the Ferry Landing on Coronado.

Cornonado ferry landing is a good place, but if you want to shoot downtown, you can scout locations around San Diego Marina harbor and Point Loma too, with all them boats in the foreground.

If you want to catch mountains and Valleys, one very good location with unobstructed view, is the Popeye's parking lot in Tierrasanta.

I lived of 11th and Island for a time on the third floor and in the am it was awesome to see the sun coming up from the east and seeing it's reflections off the high rise windows to the west... At the time you could see the twin black towers from that corner and then on the other side of Island there was a tall building with lots of glass.... now all those condos block the great sunrises though.

For sunrise without buildings just some mountains and valleys.

Another option for sunrise over the plains of Kearny Mesa is the entrance to Miramar Landfill.
