Ultimaker: But What About the Quality of 3d Prints?

A lot of the press that Ultimaker has gotten has been about the crazy speeds these machines can print at... Can something that moves at such speeds actually produce high-quality prints or is Ultimaker just about speed? The answer is yes, an Ultimaker can absolutely produce prints of amazing quality.

I have to start with the most impressive print I’ve seen, done by Paul “Screal” Candler... [His copy of Yoda is printed] at a 0.02mm perimeter layer height. That’s not a typo, either: 0.02mm. 20 microns. 0.000787 inches. Holy crap, Paul!!

Dutch architects to use 3D printer to build a house
The Landscape House will be printed in sections using the giant D-Shape printer, which can produce sections of up to 6 x 9 metres using a mixture of sand and a binding agent.
