Meeting Notes: Blender Developer Meeting
2.67 Targets have been decided upon--
Ideasman will be adding some 3D printing tools.
Sergey will finish motion tracking autokey, is looking into a weighted track feature that Sebastian is recommending. This feature would have selected tracks have more weight/influence than others when tracking. Initial thoughts are it will probably be after 2.67.
Sergey also will work on some nice improvements for the compsitor regarding borders and using render percentage effectively . More on that next time.
PyNodes is ready to be merged in trunk. No word on how soon, maybe this week???
This is useful among other things as a way for external renderers to have access such as LuxRender.
Freestyle still needs more reviews. Freestyle is the line renderer with output like a toon shader.
Devs are putting it under code review. Users need to test it to get it for sure included.
This is a great time to do some testing and there is a call for demo files.
Until it's merged in trunk and available from the build bot, you can download builds from http://www.graphicall...
Drop into dev chat on freenode.net if you have a demo file you would like to be considered.
If all that confuses you, let me know and I will get you started. This is a great feature and opportunity to contribute a demo file.
L.A. has some fantastic talent that Ton and the developers could really benefit hearing from, by testing Blender and by providing demo files. Opportunities for L.A. people to be involved and heard have never been better. So chime in if and when you can.
Also, per requests from our users, devs are restoring the object grouping feature menu lost from 2.49 and they are working on the UNC share path issue for Windows network file shares access for 2.67. No commitment yet though on restoring the particle lifetime as in 2.49 since there are workarounds and the node system is being improved.
Pixar’s Senior Scientist Tony DeRose mentions Blender twice in presentation.
