Okay. So I am a HUGE Christopher Durang fan. He is actually my favorite playwright. His unique brand of comedy is pure genius!
We will be joining together with the Nights at The Globe meetup group for the opening night of Christopher Durang's play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at The Old Globe. I am so excited about this one! This Tony-Award winning play is actually one of Durang's masterpieces that I haven't seen or read yet, so I am looking forward to this even more! It is destined to be a night of hilarity!
We have also been invited to join The Globe's Meetup group, which is facilitated by Karen Ann of The Globe Theatre, for a special Backstage Tour of The Old Globe! We will meet on the Plaza by the Conrad Prebys Center sign in the center at 6:10pm. We will begin the tour at 6:15pm sharp and be done with plenty of time for you to get a drink or something to eat at the pub and meet up with everyone else attending the show with us.
*** Be sure to RSVP for the tour on the Nights at The Globe Meetup page if you are planning on coming to that portion, as space is limited for the tour. RSVP for the show, then you will be prompted to RSVP for the tour. ***
SHOWTIME = 8:00 PM
BACKSTAGE TOUR BEGINS = 6:15 PM
If you won't be able to make the tour, no problem! We will meet you out on the Plaza between 7 and 7:15pm.
ABOUT THE SHOW
The hilarious winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play! Your heart has to go out to three siblings whose artsy parents named them after characters from Chekhov. Vanya and Sonia have lived at home while sister Masha has traveled the world starring in B-movies. Now Masha is back, with her boy toy Spike in tow, and she’s intent on selling the house. Farce ensues. Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang is in sidesplitting top form with this riotous Broadway smash. Contains strong language.
