I will be in front of the nature center. I will leave at 5:05pm. My cell is [masked]

I am BACK and have a clean bill of health. I used to host this hike on a weekly basis, but then I became ill and had to stop.

This is a self-guided hike. If you are just getting back into hiking, you can hike with me. The dirt is loose, so going down the hills is just as challenging as going up. You might fall on your butt. The first mile is flat. Going down the hills is not that dangerous, I will show you how to do it. It will teach you balance and work the muscles in your CORE.

If you are advanced or intermediate, you can try to finish all twelve hills. Most people want to go to the gate and then come back.

This is an out and back hike, with optional easier trail that winds around the hills. The main path is a fire road. At the top of MOST of the hills is a bypass that will take you down to the easier trail and back to your car.

The Mission Bay Rangers monitor this state park, so it is well-maintained. The Tecolote Nature Center is also a Ranger station.

Bring: poles, water, first aid kit, snacks, towel for sweat. Dress light. I used to get Marines and Navy guys who came here to get their hearts pumping.

Wear: Hat, sun glasses, sun block, Sturdy but flexible shoes that do not hold the ankle in place to harshly. Pole and boots recommended.

Distance: 4-5 miles

Level: Everyone can do this but no beginners please.

Duration: 2 hours

Pace: You can push yourself hard or go easy. It is up to you.
