Due to the fact that it is now getting dark earlier, the Leon Creek Greenbelt is no longer accessible to us because of the Dawn to Dusk curfew applicable to all of the city's greenbelts. I have designed another route not far away, beginning at Bonnie Conner Park which is right behind the John Igo library. This park is open from 5 am to 11 pm which allows us to park there in the evenings. The walk will begin at this park, and will go through the Igo Library area. We will then walk on the sidewalk around the large Northside Independent School District area which encompasses Brandeis High School, Stinson Middle School, the Northside Football Stadium Complex, and the Northside Pool Complex.
Below is a Summary of the walk:
Distance: 3.2 miles
Time: 1 hour and 20 minutes
Conditions: TBA. The walk will be in partial darkness so bringing flashlights and other lights for the dogs is highly recommended. The walk will be almost entirely on sidewalks, and is relatively well lit for much of the way.
Proximity: The walk is in northwest San Antonio very close to the intersection of Hausman and 1604.
Directions: The best way to get there is to take a left onto Kyle Seale from Hausman if you are coming from the Babcock and Hausman intersection, or a right onto Kyle Seale from Hausman if you are coming from 1604 and Hausman. Then take an almost immediate left into the Igo library parking lot. Follow the green signs through the Igo library parking lot through the back, and follow the little drive which will lead to Bonnie Conner Park.
Leash rules: Leashes should be no longer than six feet.
Phone Number: My phone number is[masked] if you have any questions.
This is a very exciting new walk, and Brodie and I hope you can make it!
