LA SIRGA - San Diego Latino Film Festival

After her family is murdered and her village destroyed in a horrendous massacre by government forces, nineteen-year-old Alicia flees to her only surviving relative, her uncle Don Oscar, a taciturn man accustomed to living in isolation and reluctant to take her in. Don Oscar lives in a rundown lakeside inn, and Alicia soon begins to help his housekeeper Flora with renovations to prepare the inn for the tourists they hope will soon arrive. But with the war raging in the countryside, the number of visitors who arrive in this already little-known area has dropped to zero. The only arrival is Don Oscar’s son Freddy, who comes to recuperate from wounds received under mysterious circumstances. Knowing the peaceful area won’t remain so for much longer, he urges his father to flee ahead of the encroaching conflict.

Is anyone interested in meeting before the movie for an early dinner (7:00) at Which Witch Sandwiches to grab a sandwich and eat it in the lobby at the theater? There is also a Smashburger and an Applebee's there.

Nice to meet you too Amy. La Sirga was great! I hope to be able to host another movie from the festival later in the week

Alas, I have to rise at 5 am the next morning for work. Otherwise looked interesting.

Hi Ginny, showtimes were limited. But I will definitely keep this in mind for next time and try to find earlier shows/or movies with more flexible showtimes.
