Parking Info: Sunday afternoon at the Main Library for a movie: "Walk on Water"

I confirmed with Film Forum (event curator).  WOW is showing Sunday afternoon.

One more caveat:  Parking, as it's Sunday (and not baseball season) meters are not enforced and should be readily available within a two block radius.  Excerpt of an E-mail received from Carol DeLauro, Film Forum: "You will now have 2 hours of FREE PARKING in the parking structure at SDPL Central Library. When you come to see a FREE MOVIE at Central Library, you should not have to pay, as most of the films are under 2 hours long!"

Central Library Underground Parking
ABM has been selected as the parking vendor to manage the Central Library's 250 underground parking spaces. The following parking rates are in effect as of January 2, 2014:

First 2 hours free with validation for library users. Validation is available in the 1st floor Lobby. $1.25 for each 20 minutes or part of 20 minutes (up to $21.00 daily).

Walk on Water is 104 minutes.  I will be opting to park on the street nearby.

Walk On Water Trailer

A hit man, Eyal, is given the mission to track down the very old Alfred Himmelman, an ex-Nazi officer, who might still be alive. Pretending to be a tourist guide he befriends his grandson Axel, in Israel to visit his sister. He wants to convince her to come back to Germany for their father's birthday party. The two men set out on an extended tour of the country during which, Axel's frankness challenges Eyal's rigid, clichéd values. Their friendship grows until he learns of Axel's homosexuality. With this final straw he leaves. To finish his mission Eyal has to go to Germany. He meets Axel once more and succeeds in being invited to the family party where secrets will be revealed.

A discussion with one of our members recently, and the fact I saw the blurb about its showing in the City Beat magazine today made me choose to host WOW.  I saw the film once and thought I saw it with our group, but couldn't find any evidence in the calendar that such in fact occurred.  It is a pretty compelling film with a couple of sub plots which gave me a good evening's experience.  Don't expect the finest in projection quality or seating however at the Library... kind of got to go with the flow but it is the all new spectacular San Diego Library facility!

No problem with parking under the building, though I had a Disabled Card. Wound up paying $5.

Too bad I can't come because I can't bring my teenage son to see it (rated R). It is not on Netflix unfortunately. On another note, the new Central Library is fantastic! You can take a 1 1/2hr tour and also go up to the last floor enjoy a great view from the terrace.

Sounds like a good movie, and have been wanting to get downtown to see the new library. Is the movie free?
