Global Hackathon for Social Good (Mobile), June 28 – 30, 2013

Geeklist is launching a global hackathon for social good, and there will a branch right here is San Diego this week-end.

This FREE event will begin Friday June 28 at 6:00PM withbeer, wine, soda, pizza, etc and last until noon Sunday. See below for important information about the locations and times.

We’re gathering mobile developers, app designers and back-end engineers to create apps, make non-profit sites much more useful on mobile, and build solutions that make the world a better place. There will be $1,000’s in cash prizes, give-aways, gift cards and more. The prizes will be local and with a global winner.

What is ‘Hack for Good’? Well it means everything built needs to be done to better humanity, support a non-profit/cause or leverage one of our sponsors (or our) API’s to do something to make peoples lives better.

Themes will include hacking to help:
Disaster and Emergency solutions - Education and Learning - Workplace and Jobs - Poverty and Hunger

Would you like to hack with other developers around the globe? Do you like free food and geek swag? Do you fancy yourself developing for mobile? Are you a decent human being? If you answered yes to at least one of these questions then we got an event for you!

The Geek Girl Conference is On Saturday at USD. With only ten minutes drive in between, it should be possible to combine the two events.
