Thanks a lot Todd! You Rock!

By the way, I'm looking for a Bootstrap plugin that adds user tour to a SPA(single page application). I tried Joyride( but it's not compatible with AMD/requirejs. Any other alternatives?

Thanks a ton Jeff! Hopscotch(and you too:) saved my life!. For anyone who are curious, feel free to visit, create a competition to see the tour.:)

Unfortunately I couldn't find the place either I put in the address wrong or the GPS messed up. This same thing happened the first time I went to the JS group. It was an interesting drive.

Also want to comment on the excellent presentation, and hope to get the slide deck soon.

Also, during the meeting ngtouch was mentioned as Angularjs' support for touch. After investigating, it's only in the extremely early stage and inadequate for more than very minimal functionality. I don't know if it will work with but the latest RC version from Github today. And, it only has three features...
    Swipe Left
    Swipe Right
(Swipe vertical is functional, passing to scroll)
ngClick - Since ngtouch is built on some version of jQuery Mobile(dangerous not to state which jQM version), this nullifies the standard 300ms pause people often do not know about.

    And, that's it.
So, it's better than nothing but it lacks for any other type of gesture than swipe and various touch-specific events today.

Hey Tony, yeah, ngTouch is quite new, and comes following the recent modular approach taken by the Angular Team for releases going forward (1.2 and beyond). ngTouch is not built on some version of jQuery Mobile. As stated in the docs, "The implementation is **based** on jQuery Mobile touch event handling". It's a similar implementation, but requires no jQM.

It also provides a $swipe service that you can use to implement more complex gestural directives with. So if you've got any ideas for more complex gestures that you think are missing, consider writing your own directives and sharing with the community! :)

Right, the biggest benefit of using ngTouch is that it falls back to the ordinary click event functionality when touch isn't available (like when developing on desktop) so you don't need to write a separate touch directive.

Anecdotally, for more complex gesture support we've had success writing directives that use hammer.js (http://eightmedia.git...) such as: although the $swipe service looks to be the better approach going forward.

I, for one, really appreciated the location, which was about 5 minutes from my work (instead of the usual 45). Thanks for the talk, Todd!

    Great talk Todd!

The venue was nice, but a bit far from SD and beer to keep the coder conversations going.

This Meetup is ONLY taking place at WalmartLabs in Carlsbad, correct? The description mentions "One America Plaza", which is potentially misleading.

Looks like we are going to have a full house! If both lots on either side of the building are full then additional parking is available across the street.

    Hi all,

I know this isn't a place for recruiting and most of you have already a good job, but just in case someone is interested in a new opportunity, hit me up or let me know where to post this.

I am a Sr web dev for Sony Network Entertainment, the division of Sony behing the playstation network. We are looking for front end developers. Technology wise, we use Backbone, Backbone.Marionette, JavaScript or CoffeeScript, GruntJS, Sass, Bootstrap ... We want to start focusing on JavaScript testing as well and are looking at Jasmine/Chai/Mocha/Sinon.

About the working environment, we have a lot of freedom to learn and bring in the best tools. I was able to learn anything I wanted regarding front end development for the past 4 years.

In my opinion, no place is perfect but here, we take the time to do it right.

Hit me up for more info and thanks for reading this.

    Best to all of you,
