Who organized?
Murray,  Neil E,  and Xavier (a.k.a X-MAN)

This will not be a squid ride or knee dragin event. There will be way too many riders for that kind of riding. This is a ride YOUR OWN SAFE SPEED ride however, speeds on the straight road sections will generally not exceed 65mph.
Depending on the number of riders, we may be dividing into 2 or more groups based on skill level and expected riding speed.

We will stop to re-group at all road changes so we will not lose anybody. There is no reason to push hard to keep up with anybody. (We much rather wait for you than wait for the paramedics) chances are we will have someone volunteer to ride sweep. Passing will be permitted within each group with the acknowledgment of the passe.

Total Distance:
Approximately 240 miles round trip from start point. If anyone would prefer to decrease this distance by about 50 miles they can just skip the road to Banning and hang out in Idyllwild for an extra hour.
General Route: I-15N to 0ld 395 to West Lillac to Lillac to Couzer Cyn to 76 to Rice Cyn to Rainbow Cyn to old 395 to Pachanga Pkwy to 79 (Short Stop at Gas Station at Pachanga and 79) to Sage Road
to Wilson Valley Rd to 371 (short stop at gas station in Anza next to Dairy Queen) to 74 to 243 up to Idyllwild and down to Banning.
Back up 243 to Idyllwild (Lunch at Joanne's Restaurant in Idyllwild)
Down 243 to 74 to 371 to Wilson Valley Road to Sage Road to 79 to Pachanga Pkwy to old 395 to Rainbow Cyn to Rice Cyn to 76 to Couzer Cyn to Lillac to West Lillac to Old 395 to I-15.

Hope you can make it.

Neil

My first ride with this group and I was not disappointed! Aside from X-Man's unfortunate mishap, the day was a blast. I will make it a point to join this group once more for a ride. Neil, thanks for organizing the 16 of us and keeping us all together.

Sorry Xavier to hear that the injuries were much more entensive than what I had originally heard at Joannes. Please let me know if you would like any help retrieving your bike or finding a replacement. Get well soon.

I got Xavier home without incident. He's hoping he didn't break his ribs (again). Other than that and the mass split, the ride went well. Let us know how things go, X-man!! Best of luck for a full and speedy recovery. Make sure and tell State Farm that your bike was a classic that collector's would love.

    •  Super long but nice ride. Banning road was great!
    •  fantastic route!
    •  Xavier, I hope you're doing well, it could have been any of us... the ride had its moments but otherwise great as usual. I'm loving the DR in the corners, but the seat starts to suck after 200 miles ;)
    •  Had a good time. It was a long day riding but nice to meet some new faces. Sorry to hear about the three crashes.
    •  Thanks to Josh for staying and testifying for the accident report. Say sorry to your wife for the delay. Thanks Murray for giving me a ride home. And everybody that stayed with me. I hope I got all names right. Besides the expected rashes I might have injured my ribs again and my right knee is messed up and swollen. Going to check with the Dr. ASAP. After the adrenaline washed out I feel like cr@p :( As the saying goes no matter how safe you ride the risk is always there. No matter how careful you are you cannot control the environment. At least I survived; the police told how many didn't.
    •  A MUCH longer day than I had anticipated but, it was great to meet some new people and roads. The day was awesome until an idiot crossed the DY infront of Xavier. Apparently this guy was "pulling over to let traffic pass him" not sure why the hell he would cross the DY on a blind turn. Xavier glad you're okay.

I enjoyed the ride. It was a longer day than usual. Some of us skipped the Road to Banning. I did as I figured there would be too many cars going up and down due to the holiday. There were 2 close calls early on and then Xaviers very unfortunate incident along the road to banning. Very glad he was not injured too badly. The fastest bike in the twisties today was an old 350CC dirt bike with street tires.
