Announcing a new Meetup for San Diego Vegans!
What: Scripps Vivisection Protest- World Week for Animals in Laboratories (WWAIL)
When: Saturday, April 24, 2010 12:00 PM
Scripps Research Institute
10550 North Torrey Pines Road
La Jolla, CA 92037Primates suffer for decades in labs. It is unnecessary. There are alternatives. Insist on them.
The overall mission statement of this protest: We demand non-animal testing. There are alternatives. Also a large focus on the use of non-human primates as test subjects. Also promoting The Great Ape Protection Act (H.R. 1326)
calling for the release and retirement of ALL chimps in labs.
This protest is in honor of WWAIL
, IDA is sending a ton of leaflets, posters, signs etc. we will be prepared. Check out the attached flyer for address, as of now we are meeting in the very front of the building. If there is not enough traffic we will move slightly down to the intersection..
The United States continues to use approximately 1,000 chimpanzees in experiments? while the UK, Japan, Austria, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and other countries have prohibited the use of great apes as medical test subjects. Until they begin doing ethical, scientifcally-valid, non-animal research, we will continue to be a voice for the animals inside their labs. Current experiments involve addicting primates to methamphetamines & alcohol. Tell Scripps to end the madness! Science NOT Sadism!
