DESCRIPTION: Ever wonder how to produce High Dynamic Range (HDR) imagery but don’t have a clue where to start? Come and join us on a Saturday to learn how to create unique scenes that fit into this new form of digital exposure. Sean will teach you how to capture and process images illustrating a full range of realistic tones using your DSLR and laptop. We’ll start with an hour how-to indoor presentation, head out for a field session to capture a few scenes, return in the Red Barn classroom to process our shots and talk a bit more about the step-by-step procedure. Then we’ll head back out for some sunset shooting (depending on time).

This class is appropriate for digital photographers, best for intermediate and advanced students, but all levels are welcome. Open to all levels 18 and over. Also open to youth (age 15-17) with attending adult.

ABOUT SEAN: As a full-time commercial photographer for 23 years, Sean captures everything from adventure to wildlife, landscapes to people, travel to studio work and brings enthusiasm, 30 years of experience, power-packed presentations, and high quality work to educate, entertain, and inspire. Besides bringing a wealth of photographic knowledge and experience, Sean has a passion for turning what he sees in front of him into a powerful photograph that connects with others. His second book, The Complete Guide to Nature Photography, published by Random House in December 2011 is a testament of Sean’s passion. He brings his unique perspective on each topic with a touch of real world scenarios, as well as a philosophical angle to tap into his thought process and your unique view of the natural world. In over 15 years of teaching photography in the field and online, Sean has the knack for helping students rise to another level with their work.

WHAT TO BRING: Laptop (Sean will be teaching using Nik Software’s HDR Efex Pro 2), Camera equipment (DLSR and tripod is a must), extra memory card and card reader (optional), and don’t forget to recharge your batteries. Thank you Bette! We'll have a blast, and yes, tons of great info to create beautiful high dynamic range images- and possibly my last workshop at Point Reyes for a while, so hopefully we'll fill the class. See you in late June!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
