On Friday, March 8 the Sierra Club's Northern Alameda County Group will be hosting its monthly zero-waste Green Friday Potluck from 6-8:30 pm with speaker and discussion at the Chapter Office at 2530 San Pablo Ave. in Berkeley.
Presentation: "Human Population -- Questions and Answers" Topics addressed will be: Earth's carrying capacity versus humanity's demands, Assuring a decent future for our children in a crowded world, Changing our mindset from conquering to caring, Women's empowerment: the key to change, Taking individual actions--having a global impact, Curbing our resource consumption, How we can each be part of the change. Our speakers are Suzanne York, senior writer with Howmany.org and Chair of the Sierra Club's Trade, Human Rights and Environment Team, and Adam Duhan from the Sierra Club's Population Committee.
