(Sierra Singles) Pine Canyon 3B Hike

Come help celebrate May birthdays, including the leader's on this moderately paced hike to explore the foothills of Mt Diablo and to look for late spring wildflowers. The hike is 11-12 miles with about 1300 feet in elevation gain. Frequent stops will be made to identify wildflowers. Possible optional post-hike dinner in walnut Creek.

Bring: lunch, liquids, Birthday snacks to share and layered clothing. Hiking boots are recommended.  Be sure to bring extra water if it is a hot day.  There is no water on the trails.

Meet: 11 am at Borges Ranch in Walnut Creek.

Directions: from Oakland\Berkeley, take Hwy 24 east through Caldercott tunnel and exit at Ygnacio Valley Rd. Right on Ygnacio Valley Rd and go pass John Muir Hospital to Oak Grove Rd. Right on Oak Grove Rd, go thru traffic circle and then right onto Castle Rock Rd. Go about a mile and turn right onto Borges Ranch Rd. Park at the lower parking lot at the ranch.

"Wild Onion" that was my favorite flower on the last hike of yours. Flower that smell like onion - funny.
