You've heard of the Presidio and the Marin Headlands, but did you know the Golden Gate National Recreation Area also extends down the Peninsula? In fact, some hidden gens are found here, just south of San Francisco, including the spot where SF Bay was first viewed by Europeans.
On this hike, you will visit three units of the GGNRA in Pacifica with panoramic vistas and wildflower hotspots and learn how the area was saved from development.
Approximately 10 miles and 1,500' elevation gain. Moderate pace; not for speed demons or gazelles, or for whom stopping for a view or wildflower is a distraction, but also not a beginner's hike.
