Intersection of Bear Creek Road and Briones Road, Briones, CA
Come celebrate the end of Summer on this moderately paced hike to see the wide-open golden hills, fall colors and vistas of Briones Regional Park. The weather and trail conditions will determine the route but come and be prepared for a 7-9 miles hike with about 2,000 feet in elevation gain. Expect muddy trails if there is rain just before the hike.
Bring: Lunch, water, snacks to share and layered clothing for changeable weather.
Meet: 11 AM in the parking lot to the left of the park entrance kiosk.
Directions: From Hwy 24 take Orinda exit and onto Camino Pablo going north heading toward Richmond. Go several miles out of town to Bear Creek Rd. Turn right at signal and go about 5 miles (shortly after Happy Valley Rd.) to the park entrance on the right. Pay parking fee and park in the lot to the left of the kiosk. (One may also park on Bear Creek Rd. and walk into the park).
Parking fee: $3.00.
Cancellation: Any rain cancels.
