SFWT May Event

Event details - Please read this information carefully before RSVP'ing for this event.

We'll be meeting at The Press Club again for our SFWT May Event.

This will also be a "No Show" amnesty event. This means if you have picked up an 'NS' or two in the past, these will be removed from your profile IF you attend the event.

The venue offers us a private bar area, as well as access to their public bar area. Food can also be purchased should anyone wish to eat at the venue.

SFWT supports The United Nation's Foundations "Nothing but Nets' initiative to provide mosquito bed nets to families in Africa. As such all attendees are requested to make a minimum $2.00 donation to this important and valuable cause (of course if you'd like to give more you are welcome to do so.

Donations are not used to cover meet up fees or expenses and are contributed 100% to 'Nothing but Nets'. For more information go to

Getting there:
Click on the map link above for a location map.

RSVP Policy:
SFWT offers a social setting for traveler's in the Bay Area to meet their fellow travelers at no cost to themselves. In doing so we ask our members to be considerate when RSVP'ing for events. As our community of SFWT members is large (over 4,100 members) our events fill up quickly and are frequently waitlisted.

SFWT members are reminded to please change their RSVP if their plans change to free up space for others who might otherwise be left on the waiting list on the day of the event.

By RSVP'ing for any San Francisco World Travelers event you accept, understand and agree that your attendance at any of the groups activities is undertaken entirely at your own risk and that you are solely responsible for the safe keeping of your belongings at all time.

I also liked the venue..good selection to eat and drink. You have option to stay in the thick of it all or move to a more quiet I did. I will definitely return.

I hope we find another place soon . . . . The leader puts in so much great effort, and we've been at different, less loud, better for mixing, venues. Maybe someone knows of somewhere else to try?

I liked the venue---good variety of beers and wines, not too pricey, close to parking and BART.

I was told to meet with the person who wanted to go to Colombia. Never got to meet with you. Send me a message I live there.

On another night. First time attending. I had a blast and meet some great people and good resources.

Where in Colombia do you live? I lived in Cali for 3 years, many moons ago. Now my daughter is going to Cartagena on a Fulbright fellowship. Don't know anything about Cartagena except its obvious beauty.Would love to check in with you next time.

He guys, I know it get's loud in the core bar area at the Press Club, but there is an area just across the aisle from our main group meeting area that was completely empty all night (and has been empty every night we've held an event at the Press Club). This is a great place to have a quiet conversation but nobody uses it. Please take advantage as the Press Club is a huge venue - there is always a place for a quiet conversation away from the crowd if want to find some space. Cheers, Mike - SFWT Organizer.

I met and talked with many people and learned about many places in the world. People were open and friendly. It was my first time and I'll certainly return.
