Introduction

I am Jim. I have previously written 5 books - 3 technical and 2 fiction. It's been a while since I last wrote a book and I want to get back into writing the kind of stories that I would want to read.

How often do you write? What time of day/night is your best writing time?

At least 1 hr per day. I write either in the early morning or late at night.

What style of writing do you prefer - creative non-fiction (includes, essay, memoir, feature articles), fiction, other?

I have written a lot of technical but I like to write fiction. I like writing stories that I want to read and I am a voracious reader.

Do you have any finished writing work you're happy with? Have you published?

I am satisfied with the 5 books I've written and have been published. Three were technical books. Two were books that I wrote on a dare to prove that I could do it. Am I happy with them? No.

Fill in the statement: "The one thing I most want to do about my writing is. . .

improve and finish some of the writing projects that are in process.

Do you experience writer's block? If so, what sort of motivation would help you?

Yes. Quite often. What gets me to move past the writer's block is that I have 86,400 seconds in a day. None of which can be banked for the future. How sad would it be not to get all the stories out that I can in the time that I have on this Earth. Also, writing and story telling is a form of immortality because its through your thoughts and words that you can influence generations. Wouldn't we all want to have that immortality.

    Hi Karl,
We’re lucky to have a colleague of Pibram in our group. It’s quickly shaping up to be a great group.
We’ll try to get a meeting on the calendar for April. What days are best for you?
